CLASS NINE – House of the Lord (Part Two)

1 Corinthians 12:1-11 (NKJV)

Romans 12:6-8 (NKJV)

Mark 16:17-18 (NKJV)

There is not restriction based upon God’s choosing, only upon our believing.

Mark 5:34 (NKJV)

It was the individual’s faith that healed them and not the choice of the Father or Jesus.

1 Corinthians 12:11 (NKJV)

“As the Spirit wills” = “Because the Spirit wills”

Because the Spirit of God is willing to give the gifts of the Spirit, He distributes them to us!

1 Corinthians 12:31 (NKJV)

“But earnestly desire the best gifts” = “Have a strong passion by faith for the best (what is lacking) gifts”

PAUL WAS TELLING THE CHURCH TO REACH OUT BY FAITH AND RECEIVE WHATEVER GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT WERE NEEDED, RIGHT THEN, RIGHT THERE!

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (NKJV)

John 14:26-27 (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 12:26-31 (NKJV)

The conclusion to the questions is to seek those gifts that are lacking by faith so that the Body of Christ becomes a whole body and not just one or two parts.

Hebrews 2:8 (Amplified Classic)

Could it be that so many of us are not seeking the gifts of the Holy Spirit because we have been taught that it is up to God and not up to us?

1 Corinthians 14:31 (NKJV)

Everyone can use the gift of the Holy Spirit to prophesy. God is not limiting us, we are limiting Him.

John 3:34 (NKJV)

John 20:21-23 (NKJV)

“Spirit” = “Breath” = “Wind”

Genesis 2:7 (NKJV)

Three facts about Adam in the garden of Eden:

1. He was made in the image and likeness of God.

2. Blood was his life source.

3. He communicated in some language with God.

When Adam sinned, the image, the blood, and the communication were all altered or lost. Jesus (the second Adam) reversed the 3-fold losses of the first Adam.

The BREATH of God gave life to Adam, and in the same way the same breath (the Holy Spirit) gives life to the Church!

The Holy Spirit also restored communication in our language.

John 3:5-8 (NKJV)

In Acts 2 there was a SOUND from heaven - the Holy Spirit. That SOUND came upon the disciples, and they began to SPEAK in other languages. THAT SOUND BECAME OUR SOUND TO RESTORE OUR LANGUAGE BACK WITH GOD!

This is WHY speaking in tongues is a gift of the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 14:2-4 (NKJV)

Praying in tongues is not for other people, it is for you!

Praying in tongues edifies the one praying. Praying in tongues without interpretation may not help others, but it will help you!

1 Corinthians 14:14-15 (NKJV)

PRAYING IN THE SPRIIT = PRAYING IN TONGUES

PRAYING IN MY UNDERSTANDING = PRAYING IN MY NATIVE TONGUE

Jude 1:20 (NKJV)

If I want to edify you, or build you up, I won’t pray in tongues unless I interpret the tongue. Instead, I will prophesy, heal, or teach. Every other gift of the Spirit we read about edifies others, only the gift of tongues edifies the one using the gift!

Why does the Bible make sure to show us every believer speaking in tongues? Why does Mark tell us speaking in tongues will follow everyone who believes? Why have we allowed teaching that suggests it is not normal for a believer to speak in tongues?

Acts 1:8 (NKJV)

Acts 2:1-4, 13-15 (NKJV)

1 John 4:4 (NKJV)

The Church today still believes that the outside world is what matters, and where the power lies.

Matthew 16:26 (NKJV)

Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV)

“Go” = “As you go” = “As you go about your daily activities”

John 12:32 (NKJV)

Jesus is the one who will draw the world to you while you go about your everyday life and activities.

Mark 16:17-18 (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 14:22 (NKJV)

A SIGN is something which shows that something else exists, is true, or will happen. Signs and wonders FOLLOW all believers to get the world’s attention!

John 13:34-35 (NKJV)

FIRST, the world sees a SIGN, and that sign DRAWS interest to look at a people from a different kingdom. Once the sign has them looking at us, how do they know that these people are truly different? By their LOVE for ONE ANOTHER!

It’s not our love for the world that reconciles the world, but our love for the Church!

Galatians 6:10 (NKJV)

John 14:12 (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 1:27 (NKJV)
