CLASS TWO – Jesus the Man

Genesis 2:15-17 (NKJV)

(“Keep the garden” = “guard”, “protect”)

Two trees = Two choices

Why this one command?

  1. Without a choice to choose against God we would not be able to be like God, because God has choice.

  2. When they ate they had or were given knowledge of good and evil. Before they ate they only knew good; they only knew God. Therefore, we needed to understand the difference between good and evil to truly have dominion over it. One cannot have authority and dominion over something that they do not know exists.

The reason Jesus was slain “since the fall of the previous world’s system”, was for redeemed mankind to rule planet earth.

God allowed mankind to fall, just like the devil and angels, so that He could be our savior and not theirs!

Ephesians 3:8-12 (NKJV)

“The eternal purpose is to have creations of free moral agents who have been thoroughly tested and purged of all possibility of rebellion; so that God can show the exceeding riches of His Grace toward them in all the ages to come without fear of eternal rebellions” – Finis Dake

John 1:1-5, 14 (NKJV)

Who was Jesus before He became a man? The Word of God.

The humiliation of the devil peaks when God Himself chooses to become a man, so that a man can destroy him and all his works.

1 John 3:8 (Amplified Classic)

The PURPOSE of God becoming fully man was to destroy the works of the devil.

Philippians 2:5-11 (Amplified Classic)

When Jesus emptied Himself, His Godly attributes became void, of no effect.

Jesus:

Was no longer equal with God

Went from a spirit body to a natural body

Went from immortal to mortal

Left the glory He had with the Father

Left His authority in heaven and earth

Left His divine attributes and powers

Matthew 3:16-17 (NKJV)

Jesus did not begin His ministry until He was baptized in water and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus used the gifts of the Spirit to perform healings and miracles, He was NOT able to perform them on His own as a man.

Acts 10:38 (Amplified Classic)

Only a man, not God, needs to be filled with the Holy Spirit and anointed.

James 1:13 (NKJV)

God cannot be tempted. Jesus was tempted.

Mark 6:1-6 (NKJV)

Jesus was controlled by the faith of others.

Jesus removed others from the room to raise the dead.

Jesus prayed His Father’s will would be done over His own; they did not have the same will.

Jesus didn’t know anything without hearing from the Father and Holy Spirit FIRST.

John 14:12 (NKJV)

Genesis 2:24 (NKJV)

One FLESH

Ephesians 5:22-33 (NKJV)

The purpose of marriage is to show the unity of Jesus and His body, the Church.

The Head must also be flesh.

In the same way that Eve was made for Adam and of Adam’s flesh, mankind was made for Jesus and of Jesus’ flesh.

Genesis 2:18 (NKJV)

Who is our helper now? The Holy Spirit

It was not good for man to be alone – woman

It was not good for the Trinity to be alone – mankind

(“Suitable” = “comparable”)

Ephesians 1:9-14 (NKJV)

Ephesians 1:20-

23 (NKJV)

His Body IS the FULLNESS of the Head!

Jesus is incomplete without mankind in unity and authority with Him

Ephesians 2:6-7 (NKJV)

Colossians 1:18-19 (NKJV)

Colossians 2:8-10 (NKJV)

Christ is the bodily manifestation of all the fullness of the Deity.

We are the bodily manifestation of all the fullness of Christ.
